Aly & AJ - поп-дуэт, состоящий из двух сестер Alyson Renae "Aly" Michalka и Amanda Joy "AJ" Michalka. Родились в Калифорнии, провели часть детства в Вашингтоне. С самого детства имели страсть к музыке . "Я думаю это всё началось когда нам было по 3 и по 5. Мы просто пели в церкви вместе и в школьных постановках", говорит Эли. Обе сестры сами пишут песни и играют на гитарах, также они являются и актрисами.
Группа Aly & AJ была сформированна в 2005 году в США. Дебютный альбом дуэта "Into the Rush" в мае 2007 года достиг статуса платины.
В 2007 выходит в свет “Insomniatic”, вторая полнометражная пластинка сестёр. Ничего такого радикально нового Эли и Эй Джей, конечно, не изобрели – они работают на стыке глянцевой попсы и чистенького гитарного рока. Они берут по старинке – не формой, но содержанием; не новаторским звучанием, но отличными песнями. Их песенки энергичны, ярки и сексуальны, в них есть кураж и довольно неожиданная для возраста исполнительниц ироничность.
